Best Animated Feature Film
An animated feature film is defined as a motion picture with a running time of more than 40 minutes, in which movement and characters’ performances are created using a frame-by-frame technique. Motion capture by itself is not an animation technique.
In addition, a significant number of the major characters must be animated, and animation must figure in no less than 75 percent of the picture’s running time.
Best Animated TV Series
Multiple episodes in which the ongoing theme, storyline or main characters are presented under the same title and have continuity of production supervision. Shorts and fillers under 5 minutes in duration are also accepted.
Best Music Video
Music videos must be over 2 minutes and under 15 minutes in length, and must have made a first appearance on broadcast or cable television during the awards eligibility year which are synchronous or approximately synchronous to a recording commercially released during the awards eligibility year.
Best Single Promo Shot
Entries in this medium include all moving image advertising under 2 minutes shot in digital format which made a first appearance on broadcast or cable television during the awards eligibility year.
Best Cinematography
In accordance with the spirit of the Cinecast Digital Cinema Awards, entries in this category must be captured in digital format.
Best Direction
Finalists in the four categories listed above are automatically eligible for this category. The three productions with the highest number of votes will be listed as the final nominees for this category.
Eligibility Rules
Videos or movies must be aired or screened for the first time in the Asia Pacific territories listed above from 1 May 2011 to 30 April 2012
To be eligible for the final nominees list, all programmes/promos/films must be shot in digital or created digitally (in the case of animation categories).
Only programmes, promos and films produced by television broadcasters (free-to-air and cable), television production companies, film production companies whose PRIMARY BASE is in one of the following countries will be eligible: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Laos, Macau SAR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, People’s Republic of China, Philippines, Singapore, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
